Tonkatsu is a form of pork cutlet, where pork filleted steak or pork loin are mixed with flour egg and breadcrumbs and deep fried together. It is a popular food dish in Japan, originating as early as the late 19th century and was inspired by Western cooking and food preparation. Here we have tried with the pork but any boneless meat can be used according to taste
INGREDIENTS
½ KG. PORK LOIN, SLICED INTO 1 ½ INCH THICKS PCS AND POUNDED
GROUND BLACK PEPPER
1 CUP FLOUR
2 PCS. EGG
1 CUP JAPANESE BREADCRUMBS
SALT AND PEPPER
OIL FOR DEEP FRYING
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
DREDGE PORK INTO FLOUR.
THEN IN BEATEN EGG.
THEN IN JAPANESE BREAD CRUMBS. REPEAT STEPS UNTIL ALL THE PORK ARE COVERED.
PRE HEAT OIL BEFORE FRYING.MAKE SURE OIL IS HOT TO ACHIEVE THAT CRISP RESULT.
DEEP FRY MEAT.
WAIT UNTIL IT TURNS GOLDEN BROWN.
THEN DRAIN IN KITCHEN TOWELS.
CUT AND SERVE.
