Laing is a Filipino dish native to the province of Bicol It is a spicy and creamy dish of Gabi (Taro) leaves, pork(you can use other meat also), and chili peppers cooked in coconut milk.
INGREDIENTS
2 CUPS DRIED GABI LEAVES
1 ½ CUP WATER
1-2 TSP. SHRIMP PASTE (ALAMANG)
1 PC. GREEN CHILI
1 CUP COCONUT MILK
SALT AND PEPPER
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
IN A PAN PUT IN DRIED GABI LEAVES
POUR IN OVER THE COCONUT MILK
THEN ADD THE SHRIMP PASTE
THEN LET IT SIMMER FOR A FEW MINUTE THEN ADD CHILIES.
OVER LOW HEAT LET IT SIMMER UNTIL COCONUT MILK EVAPORATE.
